GALETON — The Susquehannock State Forest will host its annual forest management/habitat tour at 9 a.m. April 29, beginning at the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum.
This year the group will highlight a different region of the district and the forest or wildlife management practices that are taking place. This year’s tour will be in the Denton Hill/ Lyman Run area of the district.
Representatives of the Bureau of Forestry, Pennsylvania Game Commission, Lumber Museum and the Black Forest Conservation Association will be leading the tour. Topics will include safe chainsaw tree felling techniques, herbicide techniques to control woody vegetation, update of the deer forest study and the district timber management and recreational programs.
The tour, which is free and will include lunch, will conclude at 2 p.m.
