A Bradford man waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Richard Luther on allegations he tried to rob the occupants of a Hoffman Avenue home.
Patrick M. Carpenter, 34, is charged with burglary, a first-degree felony; robbery, a third-degree felony; three counts of terroristic threats, first-degree misdemeanors; one count each of simple assault, theft by unlawful taking and recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors; and three counts of summary harassment.
Carpenter went into the home looking for Suboxone and appeared to be “dope sick,” according to the criminal complaint.
The complaint alleges that on afternoon of March 6, Carpenter stormed into the home occupied by three adults and a 2-year-old boy and pushed one of the adults, saying he would assault the man if he did not hand over his prescription Suboxone.
During a subsequent struggle, Carpenter allegedly put the man in a headlock and shoved the child, knocking the boy to the ground. Carpenter was given two Suboxone strips, court records stated.
He remains incarcerated in McKean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
