Open Arms Community Church is launching a third service on Sundays, starting Easter.
The church’s Foster Township location will hold services at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at 1289 E. Main Street, about a mile north of Walmart in Foster Township.
The church has experienced significant growth in the past year with the site doubling the number of attendees.
“We really can’t take any credit, but we are super excited,” said Pastor Mike McAvoy.
He attributes the growth to the changed lives and people sharing what God’s doing for them.
“When you have addicts finding freedom, relationships finding restoration, bodies finding healing, and those in despair finding hope, word is going to get out and people come running to Jesus,” McAvoy said. “That’s what we see in the Bible, and that’s what we are experiencing. We have no more room, and while we’re looking for a new location, we’ll work with what we have to make room. It’s a lot of work, but people are worth it.”
A bus will operate for the third service. People can be picked up up at Save-A-Lot at 10:40 a.m., the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford police station at 10:50 a.m., bus stop at Barbour Street at 11 a.m., Marilyn Horne Hall/Veterans Square at 11:05 a.m., Tops parking lot at 11:10 a.m. and Togi’s Sub Station at 11:15 a.m. The bus also drops off individuals at those locations.
