OLEAN, N.Y. — The Southern Tier Symphony will hold “Bach’s Lunch 2018” at noon Tuesday at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels in Olean.
It will be held at 2 p.m. in Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, Ellicottville, as well,
The program will be conducted by Joseph Gervase, and will include the following: Symphony in B-flat major, ‘Mannheim No. 3’ – Johann Stamitz Passacaglia – George Frideric Handel Divertimento in D Major, K136 – Amadeus Mozart Nocturne from Quartet # 2– Alexander Borodin Toccata from Symphony # 5 – Charles-Marie Widor.
Gervase’s guest conducting experiences include the Houghton Wind Ensemble, the Cattaraugus County middle school band, the Wayne County middle school band, the Youngstown Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Stambaugh Youth Concert Band in Ohio. In 2013, Gervase had the privilege of conducting Les Miserables with the Olean Community Theatre. He has also been a member of the Southern Tier Symphony trumpet section since its inception in 2003.
