SMETHPORT — A Bradford man pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to allegations he tried to rob someone in a Bradford home.
Lee M. Gourley, 33, entered the plea to a charge of criminal attempt-robbery by threat of immediate serious injury, a first-degree felony.
District Attorney Stephanie-Vettenburg-Shaffer said that on Oct. 20, Gourley entered a Cornen Street home with the intent to rob the occupant of money and narcotics.
Gourley will be sentenced March 22.
He remains incarcerated in McKean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Court records filed at the time of his arrest had asserted that Gourley used a firearm in the robbery, but the alleged firearm was not mentioned Thursday, and a firearm charge that was initially filed was dropped as part of the plea agreement.
