TREES: A reader called Thursday to say Bradford City doesn’t look the same as it used to.
“If you drive around Bradford, you notice there are very few trees anymore,” he said.
He isn’t sure if it is deliberate, or if the trees had just aged and not been replaced, but he wondered if anyone noticed that.
Our reader specifically mentioned the Third Ward area and said you can drive down Barbour Street from Zippo to Hobson Place and see maybe one tree.
“I often wonder why some towns encourage trees” — while other ones don’t want trees because of problems the roots cause to underground infrastructure.
He likes trees. They make the town look better and release oxygen into the air, he said.
But he does not like the ones on Main Street, as he feels their height is not right for the space.
Thoughts, readers?
SPRING AHEAD: As we move our clocks forward an hour on Sunday, the National Safety Council said it’s a good time to do other household tasks.
For instance, check your smoke alarms and replace the battery at least once a year. Do the same for carbon monoxide detectors.
Review your emergency plan with your family. See that you have an emergency kit in both your home and car, and update your first aid kit.

ALBUM: Today is the 45th anniversary of the release of one of the most well-known albums. In fact, in 2012, the album landed at #43 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
As the Associated Press reports: “In 1973, the Pink Floyd album “The Dark Side of the Moon” was first released in the U.S. by Capitol Records (the British release came nearly two weeks later).”
