The latest round of roster additions to this year’s Big 30 Charities Classic Football Game were announced. Here are the first batch of names from the latest release. Be sure to check tomorrow’s edition for the rest:
Sawyer Drummond
Otto-Eldred Jr./Sr. High School
Height: 6’2”- Weight: 205 Lbs.
Offense: QB- Defense: MLB
Sawyer plans to attend Gannon University and major in Business and Finance. Sawyer’s athletic accomplishments consist of being named to the Big 30 all-star team and D-9 Player of the Week. He was named to the NTL all-star basketball team and the Big 30 basketball all-star team. In addition, he was named to the baseball Big 30 all-star team and he was named to the baseball NTL all-star team. He is looking forward to playing in the Big 30 game, to have one last chance to play the game he loves. His most memorable football moments were winning the NTL North two years in a row. Sawyer’s hobbies include playing sports, video games and hanging out with friends. His favorite NFL team is the Buffalo Bills and his favorite player is Shady McCoy.
Brayden Southard
Smethport Area Jr./Sr. High School
Height: 6’1”- Weight: 270 Lbs.
Offense: T- Defense: T
Brayden plans to go to work on a pipeline as a welder helper for five years then he would like to get a Certification from a CWI. Brayden earned the Dave Magee down lineman award at SHS. Brayden states that it is a once in a lifetime experience to play in the Big 30 game and an honor to have been selected. His most memorable moment playing football was his lead block to win the game for homecoming. His hobbies are hunting and fishing. His favorite NFL team is the Pittsburgh Steelers and his favorite player is Saquon Barkley.
Daunte Jeter
Olean High School
Height: 5’11”- Weight: 178 Lbs.
Offense: WR- Defense: CB
Daunte plans to enter college and major in Criminal Justice. His plans are to eventually become a State Trooper. Daunte was named all-league and Iron Man of the Year at OHS, and Rookie of the Year. He is aware of the history of the Big 30 game and is thrilled to be a part of the game. His favorite memory at OHS was finishing 8-0 his junior year. His hobbies include working out, running and playing Madden. His favorite NFL team is the Indianapolis Colts and his favorite player is the Steelers JuJu Smith- Schuster.
Wake Kless
Pioneer Central School
Height: 5’7”- Weight: 160 Lbs.
Offense: RB- Defense: CB
Wake plans to enter St. Bona and major in Chemistry and do the Pre-Med sequence of courses. Then it’s off to Medical school to become a Doctor. Wake’s honors include, 2017 ADPRO Sports/Section iv Scholar-Athlete All WNY Team, 2017 All-WNY Football Academic Team, Olean Times Herald Player of the Week, Air Force Recruiting Service Mathematics and Science Award, United States Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award, Section iv Character Athlete of the Game. He was a Connelly Cup Nominee in 2017, his team MVP, Pioneer Panthers football, Athlete Award-2016/2017 and Football Weekly Player of the Week. Wake has watched the Big 30 classic over the years and is extremely honored to be nominated to play in the game. He has been fueled by the chance to play in the game some day and it has always been a goal to strive toward. His most memorable moment was beating Burgard 39-12 to seal a playoff spot this year. His hobbies include wakeboarding, weightlifting and snowboarding. His favorite NFL team is the Buffalo Bills and his favorite player is Peyton Manning.
