Two Kersey residents were charged after state police found a wanted man hiding under a bed.
Keenan McMillen, 25, is charged with two counts each of flight to avoid apprehension, both third-degree felonies, and false identification to law enforcement officer, both third-degree misdemeanors; while Ariana M. Schloder, 27, is charged with four counts of hindering apprehension/prosecution, all third-degree felonies, court records indicate.
According to court records, on Feb. 10 and 17, state police personnel went to Schloder’s residence at 393 Toby Road, Fox Township, looking for McMillen, who was wanted by police.
She told police that he was not there, but police found him hiding under a bed while they were searching the home, police reported.
Schloder is free on $25,000 unsecured bail, while McMillen was committed to Elk County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail in the case. McMillen has a preliminary hearing set for March 13, and Schloder is scheduled to appear for a hearing on March 27.
McMillen is facing allegations that he was using counterfeit $100 bills to pay for items at area businesses and has several charges against him in the case including dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, a first-degree felony, and forgery, a second-degree felony, court records indicate. He was jailed on $100,000 bail in that case.
