CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is advising motorists that temporary automatic flagging devices are now in place on a section of Fox Hill Road in Potter County.
A large volume of truck traffic is travelling from a gas well site on Tom May Road in Ulysses Township and moving through the intersection of Fox Hill Road and Tom May Road.
The new automatic flagging devices were set in place Wednesday. Drivers traveling the area on Fox Hill Road will encounter the short, portable devices on each side of the Fox Hill Road/Tom May Road intersection. There may also be a traditional roadway flagger at that intersection. This traffic pattern change is to facilitate traffic movement and enhance safety at the intersection.
Advance signage on Fox Hill Road includes message boards displaying the messages “Construction entrance ahead” and “Trucks entering highway.” Signage on the temporary devices will direct drivers to “Stop here on red signal.”
PennDOT expects this traffic pattern to be in place through early June and reminds motorists to be alert for these changes at the intersection. Drivers should always buckle up and obey posted speed limits.
