A Bradford man waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Dominic Cercone for a case related to a stolen firearm.
Jacob L. Miller, 21, is charged with theft by unlawful taking, conspiracy to commit theft, receiving stolen property, conspiracy to receive stolen property, and possession of a firearm prohibited, all second-degree felonies; and theft from a motor vehicle, a first-degree misdemeanor.
According to court records, at 4:14 a.m. Feb. 6, Miller was in possession of a handgun, a Ruger LC9s, that he stole out of a red pick-up truck that was parked on Congress Street.
During a subsequent interview with Bradford City Police, Miller admitted that he took the handgun from a truck, and later it was thrown into a storm drain in the Clarence Street area, court records stated.
A co-defendant in the case, Kody M. Mountain, 21, of Bradford, waived a hearing on Thursday for charges of conspiracy to commit theft and conspiracy to commit receiving stolen property, both second-degree felonies, court records indicate.
Mountain is jailed on 10 percent of $50,000 bail.
