PORT ALLEGANY — The Port Allegany Family Center, a program of the Guidance Center, is offering the “Incredible Years,” a parent workshop on managing challenging behavior in children ages 2 to 8 years old.
The 7-week workshop will be held on Mondays from 10 -11:30 a.m. at the Port Allegany Family Center, 78 Mill St. in Port Allegany, beginning March 19.
Parents will learn techniques for play, praise, redirection, and limit setting. The workshop is interactive, fun and an opportunity for parents to learn useful tips to keep their children engaged in positive activities, so that tantrums and negative behaviors are less frequent. Children can participate in an accompanying playgroup. There is no fee for the course. Pre-registration is required. To register call 837-5148, ext: 2618.
