On Tuesday, the City of Bradford Police Department and the Bradford Area School District investigated two separate allegations of threats at Floyd C. Fretz Middle School.
According to a press release issued by School Resource Officer Steve Green, the school went into a “shelter in place” status during this time.
In each separate case, the officers and district administration were able to quickly identify the juveniles who made these verbal threats.
Each juvenile was removed immediately and interviewed concerning these alleged threats, Green stated.
After investigation, it was verified that verbal threats had been made in each case, however all information gathered led law enforcement to believe there was no means for the juvenile to carry out the threats, Green stated.
The City of Bradford Police Department and the Bradford Area School District remind that they take any incident involving safety of students seriously, and will continue to address these incidents appropriately.
This is an ongoing criminal investigation that will be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law.
