KANE — Flickerwood Wine Cellars, located in Kane, has won seven medals in the 2018 Florida International Wine Competition, with their Specialty Fruit Wine Pear, winning Best of Show Fruit Wine.

Held annually in February during the Florida State Fair in Tampa, this wine competition is open to any national or international commercial winery. Other medal winning wines for Flickerwood Wine Cellars in this competition are as follows: Pear, double gold and Best of Show Fruit Wine; Riesling, double gold; Sleepy Hollow Red, silver; Sweet Angel Red, silver; Flickerberry Dew, silver; Bruiser, silver; and Pineapple Girl, bronze.

This is the second time that FWC’s Pear Wine has won Best of Show Fruit Wine at this competition, as it won this award in 2015 also.
