KANE — The Kane girls rolled to a 70-39 win in their regular season finale against Redbank Valley.
In addition to ending the season with the most wins in school history, the Kane girls also saw junior Ella Marconi reach the 1,000-point milestone in the game.
Marconi poured in 23 points, and was again a force in the paint with 12 rebounds and six blocks.
“With Ella being a junior this is quite an accomplishment,” Kane head coach Dave Kiehl said. “She became the fifth Lady Wolf to score 1,000. It is a true tribute to her teammates. It is still a team game and it takes all to accomplish these goals.”
Marconi joined teammate Trinity Clark on that exclusive list, as Clark hit 1,000 points earlier this season. Clark had 16 points and 10 boards on Wednesday night.
Kane (21-1) returns to play tonight against DuBois Central Catholic in the AML semi-final game.
Northern Potter 54, Bucktail 18
ULYSSES —The Lady Panthers defeated Bucktail on Wednesday, ending their regular season on an eight-game winning streak.
Kailey Cowburn and Mikayla Lewis both notched double-doubles in the contest, with Cowburn netting 15 points and 13 rebounds and Lewis finishing with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Rebecca Morgan added 13 points and seven steals.
Emily Cross led Bucktail with eight points.
Northern Potter (17-5) will wait to see who it will face next week in the District 9 playoffs.
