The Bradford YMCA will kick off its annual campaign on Wednesday.
Through its annual campaign fundraising efforts, the Bradford YMCA has been successful in providing unduplicated services that contribute to the health and well-being of the community.
“With strong partnerships and collaboration among our partners we are able to strengthen our community by bridging the gaps in areas of need,” said Brent Raabe, executive director, Bradford YMCA.
The Bradford YMCA is a key community resource and a leader in bringing people together and strengthening relationships among “Us,” including the youth, adults and seniors who contribute daily to the betterment of our community.
The Y understands the importance of learning from one another and the organization’s role in helping members reach their potential. In Bradford and the surrounding communities, the YMCA aims to establish common ground by focusing on the development of positive values, building self-esteem, promoting healthy lifestyles and providing social supports and opportunities through various programs such as life-saving swim lessons, youth and adult sports and group exercise classes.
“We are thrilled with the way the annual campaign has provided membership and programming assistance to so many members in our deserving community,” said Jeff Alevy, chief executive officer, YMCA of the Twin Tiers. “This is a true representation of how the Y is working to solidify the “Us” that holds us together as a community.”
To celebrate the “Us” in communities across the U.S., the Y launched the second phase of the “For a better us” campaign. Titled “Us,” the campaign is designed to help the public understand the programs and resources the Y provides around the country — including community outreach initiatives; access to safe places; mentorship and volunteer opportunities, and more.
