CROSBY (EC) — John and Jean Prosser of Smethport were honored Saturday on the occasion of their 70th wedding anniversary at a reception at the Norwich Township Volunteer Fire Department hosted by their children and spouses.
John and the former Jean Crouse were married on Feb. 13, 1948, at the home of the Rev. Bailey in Norwich Township.
They are the parents of three children: John “Pete” (Cece) Prosser of Ormsby, Nena (Chris) Burdick of Betula and Kathy Stout of Kane.
The couple has six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A veteran, Mr. Prosser served in World War II.
Prior to retiring in 1990, he was employed in construction and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Mrs. Prosser was a housewife.
The Prossers still live in their Smethport home of 65-plus years.
They enjoy camping and traveling.
Both are members of Bradford Kingdom Hall.
