EDINBORO — Bradford’s Regan Johnson breaking her own school record highlighted the Lady Owls track team’s performance at Edinboro on Saturday.
Johnson’s time of 8.08 in the 60 meters broke her previous mark of 8.09 set in 2017. The time was good enough for fourth place overall.
“It was a good day,” Bradford coach Larry Stillman said. “Regan broke her own record in the 60 dash with a great race and had her best ever 200 going under 27 seconds for the first time.”
Johnson’s time of 26.84 in the 200 was good for fifth place in the event.
Ashton McGriff also had a nice outing with three top-10 finishes: she finished second in the 200 (26.49), seventh in the long jump (15’6.5”) and seventh in the triple jump (33’7”).
“Ashton had the second fastest 200 in program history and her best long jump and triple jump indoors,” Stillman said.
Stillman also noted the performance of Mikayla Bond, who placed ninth in the high jump with a leap of 4’11”.
“Mikayla had her best ever high jump with many clutch jumps,” he said, adding, “Our 4 x 200 relay also ran well.”
The relay team of Johnson, Jaden Griffin, Emily Bosworth, and Alexandra Safran finished eighth with a time of 1:55.17.
Bosworth and Alexis Brown both placed in two events, with Bosworth coming 19th in the Mile (6:00.26) and 23rd in the 800 (2:40.34), while Brown was 20th in the triple jump (29’1”) and 37th in the long jump (12’3”).
Other Lady Owls results included: Abby Coffman (29’6”) and Allyson Luke (24’8”) finished 13th and 23rd, respectively, in the shot put; Alexandra Safran was 36th in the 60 hurdles (11.74); Taylar Majer was 37th in the 60 hurdles (13.34); Jaden Griffin finished 45th in the 60 meters (9.11); and Chloe Shaw was 53rd in the 400 (78.63).
