A 306 Chestnut St., Port Allegany, home was destroyed in a fire that started early Saturday morning.
No one was injured, the State Police Troop C Fire Marshal Unit reported.
According to police, the fire began around 2:57 a.m. in the 24-foot-by-24-foot two story house belonging to Lloyd L. Fink Jr. of Port Allegany. Firefighters believed the fire was out around 6 a.m.; however, at 6:50 a.m., they were dispatched again to find the home fully engulfed in flames.
The structure is a loss, and damage is estimated to be about $75,000, police stated.
Investigators have not determined the origin of the fire, and no cause was given. The investigation is ongoing.
Several fire companies reportedly assisted the Star Hose Co. in Port Allegany Saturday morning.
Star Hose stated on Facebook that this was the fifth time the fire department was dispatched for a working house fire in two weeks.
Star Hose reported on the following fires on Facebook: Jan. 27 at 76 Pearl St. in Port Allegany, Feb. 2 on Knapp Road in Annin Township and Feb. 6 in the 300 block of Catlin Avenue in Port Allegany.
The company also posted a reminder asking that people help keep local fire hydrants clear of snow and ice to ensure they are easily accessible during a fire.
