BROOKVILLE — In a game that saw a combined 50 fouls between the two teams, Bradford was able to defeat Brookville 60-55 in Friday night’s D9 League contest.
Tyler Gigliotti went 13-of-15 from the line to finish with a team-high 21 points for Bradford, while Deondre Terwilliger had a nice all-around game finishing with 16 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
“(Gigliotti) played really well down the stretch,” BHS coach Brian Hobbs said. “He did a nice job at the line. We also had some guys come off the bench and give us some good minutes down the stretch. Adam Boyer hit some big free throws and Caleb Nuzzo had a few big ones as well in the third quarter. Guys just stepped up and knocked down free throws.”
The Owls held the Raiders to just five points in the third quarter thanks to some nice interior defense.
“Donny Pattison did a good job on Bryan Dworek (six points),” Hobbs said. “He did a good job for the duration on him.”
Aaron Park scored a game-high 24 points for Brookville (12-7, 3-5), while Trenton Gilhousen added 13.
Bradford (11-8 overall, 6-2 D9 League) now faces a huge game against Elk Catholic on Tuesday, as the Crusaders lost their first league game to St. Marys on Friday.
“All of the quad-A teams are right around each other; it’s a tight race,” Hobbs said. “The guys have to be composed and ready to battle.”
