OLEAN, N.Y. — Area students can begin applying for scholarships managed by the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation on Thursday.
Students can apply using the online scholarship portal at cattfoundation.org/scholarships. Filling out one common application allows students to apply for awards from more than 50 scholarship funds.
In 2017, 74 students together received nearly $130,000 in scholarship awards — the Foundation’s highest total yet.
“Our scholarship program has been rapidly growing,” said CRCF Executive Director Karen Niemic Buchheit. “Just this year a number of new scholarships have been established at the Foundation, including new scholarships for students at Franklinville/Ten Broeck Academy, Ellicottville, Hinsdale, Olean and more.”
Scholarships are available to students throughout the region (including Cattaraugus, Allegany, Chautauqua and McKean (PA) counties) for a multitude of interests and career/educational goals.
Applicants will submit supporting documentation such as transcripts and recommendation letters using the online portal as well. Applications must be completed and submitted by April 2.
Students and parents are encouraged to contact CRCF Manager of Donor Services Ryan Michelle Wilcox with questions at 716-301-2723 or ryanmichelle@cattfoundation.org.
