Bradford Regional Medical Center, a Kaleida Health facility and member hospital of Upper Allegheny Health System, will hold its eighth annual Spring Swing Gala April 14 at the Pennhills Club in Bradford, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The 2018 dinner dance will honor Steven Herrmann, MD, cardiologist, and Kids and Cancer.
Herrmann is a Bradford-based physician with General Physician, PC, a division of Kaleida Health. He is well known in McKean County, having practiced in the region for more than 10 years. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He is an American College of Cardiology fellow, has multiple listings in Top Doctors in America, Who’s Who in Academic Medicine, is a member of the International Society of Cardiology and a renowned teacher and author. His community work includes helping to acquire AED machines for eight local golf courses, serving as an instrumental part of two charity golf tournaments that benefit BRMC and the community, participating and educating at health fairs and supporting the Bradford Hospital Foundation’s named funds, especially the Zenaide Still Oncology and James O’Mara funds.
Kids and Cancer will be honored with the Community Philanthropy Excellence Award. For 20 years, the nonprofit organization has assisted families in their time of need and organizations that help in the fight against childhood and adult cancer and other debilitating diseases. The group established a motorcycle dice run in 1998 to invite motorcyclists to enjoy the beauty of the area and freedom of cruising through the Allegheny National Forest and Kinzua Dam areas of northwestern Pennsylvania and southwestern New York. In addition to promoting local tourist attractions, 10,000 people from all over the U.S., Germany and Canada have traveled to Bradford to participate and raise charitable funds. Over the course of Kids and Cancer’s existence, $450,000 has been donated to individuals, medical facilities, cancer-related organizations and various service clubs that assist kids and their families.
“We are fortunate to have a gifted cardiologist of Dr. Herrmann’s skill in our community. His commitment to our patients and the community has made a remarkable impact,” said Timothy J. Finan, president and chief executive officer, Upper Allegheny Health System, BRMC.
“Kids and Cancer is an exceptional group of caring volunteers who took it upon themselves to make a difference. For two decades, area families and organizations like BRMC benefited from this incredible organization,” Finan said. “Together, Dr. Herrmann and Kids and Cancer have demonstrated great concern for this community. We truly value their efforts on behalf of BRMC and the Bradford Hospital Foundation.”
William Pantuso, board chairman, Bradford Hospital Foundation, added his kudos as well.

This significant support, while recognizing the extraordinary contributions of our honorees, continues to provide much needed funding for critical upgrades and resources for BRMC.”
