RIDGWAY — A Ridgway man has been jailed after allegedly holding a loaded firearm to his wife’s head on Jan. 24.
Ridgway borough police reported that Brian Hamilton, 55, of South Street, is charged with aggravated assault, a second-degree felony; terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; and recklessly endangering another person, a second-degree misdemeanor.
Hamilton was arraigned before District Judge James Martin and committed to Elk County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Police said they received a report at 5:46 p.m. Wednesday of a domestic dispute on South Street. Hamilton allegedly made threatening statements to his wife while holding a firearm to her head.
Hamilton fled the home before police arrived, but police were able to make contact with him via telephone and return, police reported. He was taken into custody at the residence.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 31.
