SHINGLEHOUSE — Oswayo Valley blew open what had been a relatively close game by outscoring Port Allegany 64-38 over the final three quarters en route to an 85-53 North Tier League victory on Friday night.
Theo Henry scored a game-high 28 points for the Green Wave, while Gavin Babcock (22 points, 10 assists) and Jacob Karr (10 points, 11 rebounds) both notched double-doubles.
“It all started on the defensive end,” OV coach Clark Cummings said. “I can’t tell how good a job Jacob Karr did on Howie Stuckey (11 points).
“The rest of guys too played great defensively. It led to a lot of easy opportunities in transition. We did a nice job on the defensive end of converting it into offense on the other side.”
David Talkington led the Gators with 21 points.
Oswayo Valley (9-6 overall, 5-4 NTL) visits Otto-Eldred on Monday, while Port Allegany (2-13 overall, 1-9 NTL) visits Cowanesque Valley on Monday.
