ST. MARYS — The Bradford girls finally got some of the offensive production they’ve been looking for. Unfortunately, Elk Catholic’s offense was even better, as the Lady Crusaders won Wednesday’s D-9 League game 67-54.
Josie Smith scored a game-high 23 points for ECC (10-5 overall, 3-2 D-9 League), while Taylor Newton (17), Makayla Wilson (13), and Makenzie Cashmer (10) all finished in double figures as well.
Hannah Lary (21 points) and Erica Marshall (17 points) both had big nights scoring-wise for Bradford despite the loss.
“It’s the kind of production we’ve been looking for from Hannah and Erica,” BHS coach Bob Hannon said. “They put a consistent game together.
“We did a lot of positive things tonight. We still struggled with turning the ball over which was our biggest downfall, but there were a lot of positive things to build on.”
Bradford (2-13 overall, 0-5 D-9 League) will host Warren on Friday.
