An alleged meth lab at 246 East Main St. in Bradford has been busted by law enforcement.
Bradford City Police Chief Chris Lucco said at 7:45 a.m. today, a state parole agent contacted city police for an unruly male at that address.
“We went there to assist, and there was a substantial amount of drug paraphernalia and items used for the production of crystal meth,” Lucco said.
Officers secured the scene and evacuated the residents of the two apartments in the structure, obtained a search warrant and contacted the state police clandestine lab unit, the state attorney general’s office and the McKean County Drug Task Force.
The warrant was served about 12:30 p.m. Officers were still on the scene around 2 p.m.
Lucco said several people were in custody at that time.
While the manufacturing process of meth is very dangerous, Lucco said the type and size of the operation were not enough to endanger other residents in the area of the home.
More on the story will be in Thursday’s Era.
