Two people were arrested Sunday in Bradford on trespassing charges; one of them is also facing felony retail theft charges in a separate case.
Holly Lynn Major, 32, of 24 W. Corydon St., Bradford, and Darian Michael Dunsing, 40, of 34 ½ Florence St., Bradford, are each incarcerated in McKean County Jail: Major in lieu of $40,000 bail and Dunsing in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Court records indicate the pair was arrested at 10:56 a.m. Sunday at an abandoned house at 115 Kennedy St. and taken before District Judge William Todd for arraignment, when Major was also arraigned for retail theft charges stemming from allegations on Jan. 10 at the Washington Street Outlet.
According to court records, on Sunday, someone called the Bradford City Police after seeing two people enter the abandoned house. At the scene, police learned Major and Dunsing entered through a window that was propped open because the doors were locked; they did not know who owns the property.
Major told police that it was her idea to go inside because her feet were cold and wet and she wanted to “smoke a bowl and talk,” court records stated.
Meanwhile, back on Jan. 10, Bradford City Police were dispatched to the Washington Street Outlet for a report that two women stole several items, damaging a display case in the process.
According to court records, Major and Cristy Curtis broke into a locked display case and took five silver $50 certificates worth a total of $250, seven coins worth a total of $175, a candle and knickknacks worth $15, a $10 silver certificate and a $25 bill from the Philippines. A display case allegedly sustained damage estimated at $800 while Major was removing items.
There is no indication that charges have been filed against Curtis.
For the Jan. 10 allegations, Major is charged with retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft, both third-degree felonies, and criminal mischief, a third-degree misdemeanor.
For the alleged incident on Sunday, Major and Dunsing are both charged with criminal trespassing, a third-degree felony, and Major is also charged with possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.
They are scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
