An addition charge — aggravated assault — was filed against a Bradford man since his arraignment on Jan. 4.
All charges against Grant D. Lewis, 46, of 189 High Place, were bound to McKean County Court at a preliminary hearing before District Judge Dominic Cercone.
In addition to the aggravated assault charge, a first-degree felony, Lewis is charged with strangulation, a second-degree felony; and two counts each of simple assault, both second-degree misdemeanors; and harassment, both summaries.
According to court records, Bradford City Police were called at 11:51 a.m. Jan. 4 to a report of domestic violence; they arrived to find the alleged victim, who had obvious facial injuries, in a vehicle with a friend.
Police learned that Lewis hit a woman in the face several times; she asked a friend to pick her up and tried to leave, but Lewis pushed her to the floor, began choking her and pushing her nose, then kicked her in the side of the head and ribs, court records indicated.
She was taken to the emergency room at Bradford Regional Medical Center, where medical professionals found that among her injuries was a right orbital floor fracture in her skull, court records stated. She was transported to the Hamot Medical Center trauma unit for facial surgery to stabilize her fracture.
Court records indicate that when police talked to Lewis, he told them he argued with the alleged victim, but said it was not physical; however, police saw blood on Lewis’ khakis and a fresh cut on his hand.
Lewis remains incarcerated in McKean County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Threat charge against Bradford man withdrawn
A threat charge against a Bradford man was withdrawn on Wednesday.
Daniel J. Mount, 65, of 28 Riley Road, was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Dominic Cercone for a case in which he was charged with a misdemeanor count of terrorist threats. Instead, the district attorney withdrew the charge, court records indicate.
Mount pleaded guilty to a summary harassment charge and was ordered to pay fines and costs, court records stated.
