PORT ALLEGANY — Otto-Eldred rode a standout performance from Sawyer Drummond and a big second quarter to cruise to a 49-28 North Tier League victory over Port Allegany on Tuesday.
Drummond scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Terrors, who outscored Port Allegany 19-7 in the second quarter to pull away.
“We played sound for a little while,” Port A coach Jeff Stuckey said. “Drummond had a big game for Otto inside with rebounds and turnovers. We just didn’t contain him. He was the one that hurt us tonight.”
David Talkington led the Gators with 10 points.
Otto-Eldred (5-5 overall, 2-4 NTL) hosts Northern Potter on Thursday, while Port Allegany (1-8 overall, 0-5 NTL) travels to Smethport on Thursday.
Smethport 37, Oswayo Valley 34
SHINGLEHOUSE — The Hubbers recovered from a rough start to eke out a big league victory on the road on Tuesday.
After mustering just eight points in the first half, Smethport bounced back to improve to 5-1 in NTL play. Caleb Lutz led the Hubbers with 12 points.
Theo Henry (12 points) and Gavin Babcock (10 points) both finished in double figures for the Green Wave.
Smethport (7-4 overall, 5-1 NTL) hosts Port Allegany on Thursday, while Oswayo Valley (7-4 overall, 4-2 NTL) will visit Coudersport on Thursday.
Austin 75, Northern Potter 45
ULYSSES — Austin jumped out to a 21-6 first-quarter lead and never looked back for a big NTL victory on Tuesday.
Jackson Glover had a fantastic all-around game for Austin, finishing with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. He was one of four Austin players to finish in double figures, as Mason Valenti (16 points), Dempsey Glover (16 points), and Blake Burgett (14 points, nine assists) all had nice games.
Tristan Byron scored a game-high 18 points for Northern Potter.
Austin (7-4 overall, 2-4 NTL) hosts Galeton on Thursday. Northern Potter (0-10 overall, 0-6 NTL) will visit Otto-Eldred on Thursday.
