Bradford Area Public Library has made changes to the One Book Bradford Committee.
Staff of the library will now coordinate the work of the One Book Bradford community common reader project. Colette Roessler, marketing and adult programming coordinator, will collaborate with the Pitt-Bradford Spectrum Series committee to select and promote the next book for the community reader project. The One Book Bradford committee, however, will continue to produce the much loved community book review prior to the next community read.
Currently, the Pitt-Bradford Spectrum Series committee and One Book Bradford are in the process of selecting the next book for the community read and the author will speak at the university in the fall.
One Book Bradford is a collaborative and enthusiastic venture among book lovers from all walks of life in our community under the auspices of the Bradford Area Public Library. Its mission is to choose a book each year for a community-wide read, which will capture the interest and imagination of a wide spectrum of readers and potential readers in our community.
For the past ten years, One Book Bradford has successfully created an opportunity for the community to share the works of prominent authors such as, Christina Baker Kline, Susan Vreeland, David Laskin, and most recently, Tori Murden McClure.
Committee members are ready to move on to focus on other projects and spending more time with their families. Rather than giving up on this successful program, they have asked the library to pick up where they left off.
Roessler added, “I am incredibly thankful all of the hard work and success of this committee. One Book Bradford provides a unique collaborative literary program that inspires thoughtful dialogue, encourages literacy and unites our community. I am looking forward to continuing this program.”
