RIDGWAY — A Weedville man who was the subject of a search over the weekend was found dead in a wooded area off Apple Street in Jay Township.
Scott Elton Winslow, 54, of Byrnedale Road, died from “apparent hyperthermia combined with a medical condition,” Ridgway-based state police reported.
According to police, Winslow did not return home after going on a side-by-side ride on Saturday, so Elk County Search and Rescue was called to assist in searching for him. He was found deceased.
Police said Winslow suffered the medical conditions while riding his side-by-side off-road vehicle.
Elk County Coroner Michelle Muccio pronounced Winslow dead at the scene.
Reports indicate that the Jay Township Fire Department assisted in the search.
