WILLIAMSPORT — On Tuesday, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection will hold a public meeting and hearing on a proposed water treatment facility to be located in Eulalia Township.
In summer 2017, Epiphany Allegheny LLC applied for a permit to open a facility that will clean fracking water.
A public meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Gunzburger Building, 1 N. Main St., Coudersport, where the DEP and the applicant will discuss the project and permit requirements. Citizens are invited to present oral testimony at a public hearing beginning at 7 p.m.
Anyone who wants to speak at the 7 p.m. public hearing is asked to register on site before the hearing begins. Each person will have up to five minutes to present comments.
People who are unable to attend the meeting will have the opportunity to submit comments. Written comments must be submitted by Jan. 29.
Written comments can be sent to Thomas Randis, environmental program manager, at 208 West Third Street, Suite 101, Williamsport, PA 17701; or via email at RA-EPNCEPIPHANY@pa.gov.
Contact Randis with any questions about the permitting process at 570-327-0530.
A citizen group, Save the Allegheny, formed in response to the partnership between Epiphany and the Coudersport Area Municipal Authority property. The group has brought up concerns including worry over the proposed facility’s proximity to Coudersport Elementary School.
