SMETHPORT — A Bradford woman entered a guilty plea Thursday in McKean County Court for charges in two separate cases.
Jennifer L. Yeager, 36, pleaded guilty on one case to a charge of theft by unlawful taking and in the second case to possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance. According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, on April 18, Yeager delivered about one gram of crack cocaine; then, on Oct. 4, Yeager took a debit card and cash valued at $1,114.30. She will be sentenced Feb. 1.
Also in court, Dwayne A. Higgs, 37, of Buffalo, N.Y., pleaded guilty to charges in two cases. In one he’s charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, and in the second he’s charged with tampering with records. Shaffer said that on Oct. 20, Higgs delivered about one gram of crack cocaine; then, on Oct. 21 at the Bradford City Police Station, he took a lab report from his criminal file when the police officer with him left the room. He will be sentenced Jan. 18.
William W. Brown, 31, of Smethport, pleaded guilty to charges of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility. On Oct. 20, Brown set up a delivery using a cell phone, then delivered 1 gram of cocaine, Shaffer said. He will be sentenced Feb. 1.
Timothy R. Curtis, 35, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance. On Nov. 6, Curtis possessed crack cocaine, said Shaffer. He was sentenced to one to two years in state prison with credit for 67 days of time served.
Julie A. Tipton, 36, of Rixford, pleaded guilty to one charge of intentionally/knowingly returning a firearm to a defendant unlawfully. On Sept. 25, 2016, Tipton, who owned a 9mm handgun, allowed her husband to use it knowing he was prohibited from possessing firearms, said Shade. She will be sentenced Feb. 15.
John L. Hallock, 45, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges in three separate cases. He’s charged in one case with conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking, a second case with escape and a third case with a summary charge. According to Shade, on Feb. 10, Hallock entered Walmart after being given notice against trespass; on Sept. 2, he ran away from officers after being transported after arraignment; and, also on Sept. 2, he agree with James Kemick to commit theft. Hallock will be sentenced Feb. 1.
Logan L. Banks, 19, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of resisting arrest and a summary charge. On Sept. 9, Banks, who was under the influence of alcohol, struggled against a Bradford City police officer who was trying to handcuff him, and he kicked the officer in the groin, said Assistant District Attorney Ashley Shade. He will be sentenced Feb. 1.
Adam K. Lloyd, 37, of Port Allegany, pleaded guilty to a charge of simple assault. According to Shade, on Aug. 30, Lloyd shoved a female down and choked her, leaving marks. He will be sentenced Feb. 1.
Darrell D. Carter, 60, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges of terroristic threats and simple assault. On Oct. 1, Carter threatened his paramour, and he slapped and hit her, hurting her arm and back, Shaffer explained. He will be sentenced Feb. 15.
Chad E. Dowell, 32, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct and a summary charge. On Sept. 6, in the parking lot of Tractor Supply in Foster Brook, Dowell yelled at a woman who was inside her parked vehicle and subjected or threatened to subject her to physical contact, said Assistant District Attorney Jerry Grill. Dowell will be sentenced Feb. 1.
Molly J. Taylor, 22, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges of theft by deception and receiving stolen property. On Aug. 3, 2016, Taylor cashed someone else’s personal check for $364.12, said Shade. Taylor will be sentenced Feb. 1.
Bobby J. Reid, 35, of Salamanca, N.Y., pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of half a suboxone strip. He will be sentenced Feb. 1.
Alfred E. Caraffa Jr., 47, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct. According to Shaffer, on Jan. 2, Caraffa walked down the roadway, creating a hazard, after Bradford City Police told him not to. He will be sentenced Feb. 1.
Samuel J. Dreistadt, 19, of Albion, was accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
