Six young women were presented Amelia Earhart awards Wednesday during the Zonta Club of Bradford luncheon at Togi’s Restaurant. Zonta officials said every January, the international organization celebrates the life of Zontian and famed aviator Amelia Earhart, who embodied the determination to succeed. The Zonta Club recognized students from Bradford Area High School, who were nominated by their guidance counselors. The students and a guest were also provided lunch, a certificate, a yellow rose and an inspirational gift. The club also donated a book on the life of Amelia Earhart to the Floyd C. Fretz Middle School library. Shown, from left, are honorees Jessica Hannon, Desiree Alcock, Hailey Campbell and Emily Miller. Not pictured were Ashlee Angelo and Cheyenne Patterson.
