RIDGWAY –– Three men allegedly assaulted a James City area man, including cutting his forehead with a knife or razor, between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Sunday in an area of Mosier Road in Highland Township, Elk County.
“We believe there is no danger to the general public,” Trooper Bruce Morris told The Era on Monday, adding that state police believe the incident is isolated.
Ridgway-based state police say that the incident occurred Sunday as three males were following the unidentified victim and flashing their vehicle’s high beams. The victim stopped his vehicle and got out, and police say that the victim was met by a male who began to assault him.
The victim allegedly heard a gunshot, and the other two males began to assault him as well. During the incident, the victim was cut by a knife or razor in the forehead and the rib area, according to police.
The victim later found a bullet hole through his jacket, police said. The vehicle the suspects were thought to be driving is an older Ford truck, according to police.
Morris said not much information is available on the incident, citing that the victim was not forthcoming with details. The investigation is ongoing.
