A Ridgway man was arrested Friday afternoon on allegations he drove a stolen car from Elk County to McKean County.
Cameron John Abbey, 20, of 261 Grove Ave., Ridgway, was arraigned Friday before District Judge David Engman on charges of receiving stolen property, a third-degree felony; corruption of minors, a first-degree misdemeanor; and summary charges of operating a vehicle without a valid inspection and driving an unregistered vehicle.
According to court records, on Friday, Ridgway Borough Police contacted Bradford City Police to inform them that Abbey stole a car earlier in the day in Ridgway, and the car may have been heading to 2 Orchard Place, Bradford.
The car was a silver 2008 Subaru Impreza with a strawberry sticker in the back window and an expired inspection sticker, court records stated. Also, Abbey allegedly had a juvenile female passenger in the car.
A Bradford officer pulled the car over in the Tops parking lot and found Abbey and the girl, court records indicate.
Abbey was released on $10,000 unsecured bail, and he is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
There was no indication at press time Monday that charges were filed against Abbey in Elk County.
Bradford woman charged with endangering children
A Bradford woman is facing allegations she was huffing an air duster while there were children nearby.
Holly Lynn Major, 32, of 68 Chestnut St., was arraigned Monday before District Judge Richard Luther on charges of endangering the welfare of children, a first-degree misdemeanor; and sale or illegal use of certain solvents, a third-degree misdemeanor.
Court records stated that on Nov. 26, Bradford City Police were dispatched to a Bradford City apartment for a domestic dispute. There, Major’s father said he wanted her out of the home because she was allegedly huffing air duster in front of a child.
There were two other adults residents in the apartment at the time — Major’s mother found her passed out — and a total of three children, court records indicated.
Major is free on $5,000 unsecured bail, and a Central Court appearance is set for Jan. 18.
