STATE COLLEGE — The Bradford High indoor track and field team competed at the Kevin Dare Meet at Penn State on Saturday.
“This is a very big meet with outstanding teams,” coach Larry Stillman said. “It was a good start to our indoor season at Penn State.”
Ashton McGriff and Regan Johnson both placed in three individual events for the Lady Owls: McGriff placed ninth in the 400 meter (60.70), 13th in the 200 meter (26.73), and 13th in the triple jump (33’4 1/2). Johnson finished 26th in the long jump (14’10 3/4), 31st in the 60 meter dash (8.41), and 32nd in the 200 meter (27.73).
“Ashton had a very good day in the sprints,” Stillman said.
Emily Bosworth finished 21st in the 800 meter (2:32.34) and 33rd in the mile (6:09.08).
“Emily had the second fastest 800 (time) in program history in her first race,” Stillman said.
Mikayla Bond finished 14th in the high jump (4’10) and 36th in the triple jump (29’3 3/4).
“Mikaya had her best high jump ever,” Stillman said.
Also placing in individual events were Chloe Shaw (62nd in the 60 meter dash (10.11), 62nd in the 400 meter (1:19.82)), Alexandra Safran (46th in the 60 meter hurdles (12.33)), Logan Sunafrank (50th in the 800 meter (3:01.22), 54th in the mile (7:04)), Alexis Brown (35th in the long jump (13’2 3/4)), Abby Coffman (15th in the shot put (30’3 1/2)), and Alyson Luke (36th in the shot put (29’3 3/4).
The 4×200 meter relay team of Johnson, Sunafrank, Bosworth, and McGriff finished 21st with a time of 1:53.02.
“Our relay team ran well,” Stillman said.
The Owls will compete at the Spire indoor meet in Geneva, Ohio on Friday.
