RIDGWAY — Ridgway-based state police report arresting an alleged fugitive from justice Thursday evening in Ridgway Borough.
According to police, at 6:08 p.m. Thursday at the corner of North Broad Street and Allenhurst Avenue, police stopped Justin Andrew Madejrich, 25, of Buffalo, N.Y., for multiple traffic violations.
Police discovered that Madejrich was wanted for drug delivery and possession charges in Jackson County, Mo. They took Madejrich into custody, and he is incarcerated in Elk County Jail awaiting extradition to Missouri.
Police reported that Madejrich is also under investigation in Elk County for possible illegal activity. No further details on the ongoing investigation were released, and there was no indication as of press time that charges have been filed against him in Elk County.
Assisting state police were the Ridgway Borough and St. Marys City police departments and the Elk County District Attorney’s Office.
