Bradford Area Public Library is offering a “mind body connection” program for young children from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The program, which is free and open to the public, will encourage families with our youngest children to use their whole body as they begin their journey into learning. According to the program facilitator and early learning consultant, Sandy Caprarotta, “Creative music and movement experiences are vital for healthy brain development as well as success in school and life. The four elements of locomotor movement: running, jumping, marching and skipping, create endless possibilities for learning. Music and movement experiences encourage social interaction and integrate math and reading skills. Keeping a steady beat helps children learn rhythm as well as requires social interaction as children listen and respond to directions and learn to wait their turn.”
This program will be a special expansion of the Story Seekers program.
