PORT ALLEGANY — Firefighters from multiple departments were dispatched at 10:07 p.m. Tuesday to an industrial fire at Ardagh Glass Inc. in Port Allegany.

According to preliminary reports, there was a working industrial fire and the glass plant, located at 1 Glass Place, was being evacuated.

In addition to the Star Hose Fire Co. and Port Allegany Ambulance, firefighters from departments including Smethport, Norwich Township, Roulette and Coudersport were called. Also, Hamlin Township firefighters were dispatched to stand by at the Smethport Fire Station.

No further information was available at press time Tuesday.
