COUDERSPORT — The Coudersport wrestling team defeated Sheffield in a close match on Tuesday by the score of 36-30.
The Falcons received victories from Chris Davis (pin), Guy Dunn (forfeit), Donovan Olney (decision), Dustin Kudrick (pin), David Kudrick (decision), Isaac Wright (pin), and Eli Ayers (pin).
“We had a banged up team with some people out and we still responded,” Coudersport coach John Bishel said. “We were able to pull out a nice win.”
Sheffield’s victories came courtesy of Kevin Marfink (pin), Kyle Agee (pin), Jake Davidson (pin), Daniel Muladze (pin), and Nick Knowles (pin).
Coudersport improves to 3-3 and will be off until Jan. 3 when the Falcons host Bradford.

SMETHPORT — Smethport fell to Kane 51-22 on Tuesday night to fall to 1-1 on the season.
Winning by pin for Kane were Brandon Healy (126 pounds), Noah Blankenship (132), Andrew Smith (138), and Aiden Hulings (160), while Ty Stahli (220) won by decision. Alec English, Adam Sicher, Teddy Race, and James Porterfield all won by forfeit.
Earning victories for the Hubbers were Bryent Johnson (106, pin), Trevor Suver (113, forfeit), Braedon Johnson (120, decision), and Alex Sanderson (145, pin).
“Kane out-wrestled us tonight,” Hubbers coach Marshall Shunk said. “I thought we wrestled well, but Kane just had some better horses. The kids put forth a great effort.”
The Hubbers will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 30 when they travel to Redbank Valley.
