SMETHPORT — A Bradford man pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to allegations from a robbery this fall at the Choice in Bradford City.
Dennis M. Fuino, 58, entered the plea to one count of robbery-threat of immediate serious injury, a first-degree felony. He appeared before President Judge John Pavlock.
District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer said that on Sept. 30, Fuino brandished a knife while wearing a mask and demanding money from the Choice store, putting the victim in fear of immediate serious bodily injury.
Meanwhile, Fuino, through his attorney, Public Defender Philip Clabaugh, asked that a second case against him go to trial. In that case, he is charged with one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property.
Shaffer explained that an overall plea agreement that had been written for both cases — that Fuino rejected — included a prison term of 80 to 180 months for the robbery charge, as well as a one- to two-year term for receiving stolen property that he would have served concurrent to — or at the same time as — the robbery sentence.
Shaffer’s recommendation for the count he did plead guilty to is still 80 to 180 months in state prison.
Fuino will be sentenced Dec. 21.
