Free Christmas choral concerts, complete with receptions, will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Sawyer Evangelical Church at 777 S. Kendall Ave. in Bradford.
Rev. Barry Troyer, pastor of the church, said concerts have been presented by the church the past couple of years since he has been head of the congregation.
“Last year, we did it for one night (at Sawyer) and then we went to a couple of different churches, it was kind of a community choir thing,” Troyer said. “This year (it will be presented both nights at Sawyer) and I think there are about 40 people in it.”
Troyer said the music will comprise spiritual melodies as well as contemporary holiday songs for all to enjoy.
“It will be quite a cantata all the way through and then, of course, we’ll have desserts afterwards,” Troyer added. “Everyone is invited to stay for that, so it will be a couple of fun evenings.”
Troyer said the concert, directed by Kelly Card, is a ministry of the church to remind the community about the reason for the holiday season.
