SMETHPORT — A Hinsdale, N.Y., woman was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court for charges in two drug delivery cases.
Melissa S. Wilson, 28, will serve 21 months to four years in state prison with credit for 163 days of time served. She is charged in both cases with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. Wilson pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to allegations that on May 30, she conspired with Larry Jones to deliver about 1 gram of crack cocaine to a confidential informant with the McKean County Drug Task Force. Then, on June 27, she conspired with Jones to deliver about .5 grams of crack cocaine, and she was also found to be in possession of 5 grams of heroin; while she was being searched by police, they found 12 grams of cocaine in Wilson’s possession.
Also in court, James P. Kemick, 33, of Bradford, was sentenced to 10 months to two years in state prison with credit for 115 days of time served for charges in four cases. He’s charged in two cases with loitering and prowling at night time, in one case with conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking and in the fourth case with burglary. On Nov. 9, Kemick pleaded to allegations that on July 26, he entered Thrifty Cleaners in Bradford to commit a theft; on Aug. 2, he loitered around 52 Bedford St., Bradford; on Sept. 2, he agreed with John Hallock to commit theft; and on Sept. 6, he loitered around 952 South Ave., Bradford.
James R. Graves III, 26, of Bradford, was sentenced to seven months to two years in state prison with credit for 116 days of time served for a charge of simple assault. Graves pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to allegations that on Aug. 13, he struck a man in the head with a baseball bat.
Nathan J. Harvey, 22, of Bradford, will serve six to 23 ½ months in jail for charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct. Harvey pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to allegations that on Dec. 18, he took part in a fight at Country Fair in Bradford that involved several people, kicking a man in the head about four times; during the fight, some items for sale sustained physical damage or got blood on them.
Jeremiah A. Smith, 25, of Bradford, will serve 90 days to 23 ½ months in jail for charges in six cases. He is charged in one case with theft by unlawful taking. In the other five cases he is charged with inhaling toxic releasing substances; in two of those five cases, he is also charged with retail theft, and in one of those five cases he is also charged with public drunkenness. Smith pleaded guilty Nov. 30 to allegations that on Aug. 22, 2016, he stole someone’s glass flower pot that was valued at $185; on July 6, Sept. 1 and Sept. 13, he intentionally inhaled fumes from a noxious substance; on Sept. 16, he stole two cans of a cleaning substance valued at $7.62 and inhaled fumes from the can; and on Sept. 1, he stole four cans of the cleaner valued at $16, inhaled fumes and appeared in public under the influence of the fumes.
James F. Minderler Jr., 24, of Smethport, will serve 60 days to 18 months in jail with credit for 62 days of time served for charges of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. On Nov. 9, Minderler pleaded guilty to allegations that on Oct. 7, he punched a woman in the face and grabbed her throat, making it difficult for her to breathe.
Katie A. Watson, 33, and Jonathan R. Watson, 33, both of Smethport, will each serve one year of probation for charges of violating the public welfare code — Jonathan Watson for one count and Katie Watson for two. They will collectively be responsible to pay $4,281.21 in restitution, and Katie Watson must pay an additional $1,705.74 in restitution.
On Nov. 9, the pair pleaded guilty to allegations that they received assistance they were not eligible for by failing to report that Jonathan Watson lived with Katie Watson, and by failing to report his full income; Jonathan Watson received $2,999 in assistance, and Katie Watson received $1,705.74 in medical assistance and $2,999 in SNAP benefits.
Crystal M. Moore, 32, of Port Allegany, pleaded guilty to one charge of obstructing the administration of law/other government function. According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, between Oct. 26 and 29, police were searching for Christopher Link, and Moore said she would contact them if she found him; he was later found to be with her. She will be sentenced Dec. 21.
Nathan E. Barnish, 24, of Eldred, will serve nine months to two years in jail for a charge of DUI and summary charges.
Joshua C. Pingie, 25, of Bradford, wll serve three days to six months in jail for charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and summary charges.
