SMETHPORT — A Bradford woman will serve three to six years in state prison for the sexual assault of a teen earlier this year.
Emma M. Graham-Norris, 42, was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court before President Judge John Pavlock.
Norris will also serve a consecutive three-year term of probation. She has credit for 98 days of time served.
She pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to two counts of statutory sexual assault: 11 years older, both first-degree felonies.
District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer explained on the day Norris pleaded guilty that between June 1 and Aug. 17, Norris had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old male.
Norris is classified as a Tier 3 sex offender and must register as such for her lifetime. Pavlock ordered that she have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family, and she is to have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.
Her attorney, Kyle Milliron, read aloud a letter from Norris to Pavlock, in which she offered her “sincere apology” to the court, the victim’s family and “everyone I’ve affected.”
Pavlock explained, “These are very serious offenses,” and said he found the sentence in the plea agreement appropriate. “I accept her apology, but that doesn’t fix what happened to the victim and the victim’s family.”
