Science is fun, and a group of students at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford have created books to show that concept to children.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, the students will share the books they created with children at the Bradford Area Public Library.
Dr. Sarah Ruffell, assistant professor of biology, challenged students from her Concepts in Biology class to create books for children that explain scientific concepts in a fun and age appropriate way. The students will display their books and discuss their projects. They will cover topics like photosynthesis and mitosis. Construction Joe will explain how cells regenerate and one group will examine cells through Twitter. Since it’s cold and flu season, one group will explain how germs are spread.
