Drug charges that were filed in April against a Kane man were withdrawn.
John H. Brooks, 38, was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Monday before District Judge David Engman; however, court records indicate the charges were withdrawn.
Brooks was charged April 28 with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Meanwhile, a co-defendant in the case, Karissa A. Burt, 21, of Kane, still faces charges in the alleged case including possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of children and driving under the influence of a controlled substance, court records indicate.
A pre-trial conference for Burt is scheduled for Dec. 14 in McKean County Court.
Port Allegany woman waives hearing
A Port Allegany woman waived a preliminary hearing Monday before District Judge William Todd for allegations she hid from police a man who was wanted on aggravated assault charges; meanwhile, a hearing for the man she was accused of hiding was postponed.
Court records indicate that Crystal M. Moore, 32, waived a hearing for two counts of hindering apprehension, both third-degree felonies; two counts of obstructing the administration of law and one count of false swearing, all second-degree misdemeanors.
On Oct. 24, Moore allegedly told police that she did not know the whereabouts of Christopher D. Link, 27, of Port Allegany, with whom she was romantically involved. On Oct. 27, she told an officer who contacted her that she was with him and that she would bring him to the station; the pair never arrived at the station, court records stated.
According to court records, police found the pair together on Oct. 29.
Link is charged with burglary and aggravated assault, both first-degree felonies; simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, both second-degree misdemeanors; disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, both third-degree misdemeanors; and two summary counts of harassment, court records stated.
According to court records, in the early morning hours of Oct. 23, Link pushed his way into a residence, came up behind Travis Blackman, and starting punching him in the head; Blackman fell to the ground unconscious and was later treated for injuries including skull and jaw fractures and a lacerated lip.
Link is also accused of punching Caden Lloyd in the face once and causing about $200 in damage to the front door of a residence, court records indicate.
Link is incarcerated in McKean County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail, while Moore is incarcerated in lieu of $40,000 bail.
