American Refining Group Inc. announced several promotions earned recently at the Bradford refinery.
Fred Kemick was promoted to lead operator at ARG’s Foster Brook Specialty Blending facility. In this role, Kemick will assist blending operations supervisor Tom Welch in the leadership and execution of ARG’s blending and packaging systems, processes and procedures. He will work closely with other departments to ensure all customer expectations are met. Kemick, who resides in Derrick City, has served more than 38 years at the refinery.
Jason Anderson was selected for a reliability technician opening. Anderson joined ARG in 2009 as a welder and steadily progressed in this field, most recently advancing to welder journeyman II this summer. He will assume the reliability technician post in January, when he will undertake the creation and verification of isometric pipe drawings and certification as an ultrasonic technician. A 2003 graduate of Smethport Area High School, Anderson earned an associate degree in welding and fabrication from Triangle Tech in DuBois.
Matt Johnson earned a promotion to research and development (R&D) chemist II. Johnson began his career at ARG in the Quality Lab in 2012. As an R&D chemist II, Johnson is tasked with design of experiments, method development, validation, documentation and continuous improvement. The role requires comprehensive knowledge and understanding of statistical techniques, critical thinking and data synthesis. A resident of Port Allegany, he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Penn State University.
