Veterans Day is the day set aside to honor the men and women who have served in the U.S. military.
Here’s a round-up of some of the events happening Saturday across the region:
• Bradford, 11 a.m. in Veterans Square, Veteran’s Day service, 6 p.m. Veterans Day dinner at the American Legion Post 108 upstairs
• Bradford, noon to 5 p.m. at Emmaus Road, 16 Congress St., the First Wesleyan Church’s downtown facility, Veterans Day dinner, free to any military veteran
• Bradford, 2 p.m. at the Bradford Ecumenical Home, local entertainers Dan & Galla will present the program “Celebrate America,” followed by refreshments
• Smethport, Veterans Day dinner at the Smethport American Legion Bucktail Post 138, with appetizers at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. and guest speaker state Rep. Martin Causer
• Mount Jewett, 9 a.m. to noon at Kinzua Bridge State Park, sharing memories; coffee and doughnuts will be provided
• Ludlow, 11 a.m. in Ludlow Wildcat Park (or the Ludlow Firehall if inclement weather), Hamilton Township Veterans Day service sponsored by James Uber Post 489 American Legion, with the Mount Jewett American Legion VFW and speaker state Rep. Martin Causer, followed by a luncheon at the Ludlow Firehall
• Emporium, 11 a.m. at the Cameron County Courthouse, where a Veterans Day program will honor veterans from World War I, followed by a program by the Cameron County Memorial Detail by the west-end bridge of Veterans Park for a program to honor veterans who served during World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Panama, Grenada, Iraq, Kosovo and Afghanistan
• Emporium, the annual Veterans Day dinner at the Cameron County Vets Club, with social hour at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. Cost is $5.
