KANE — For many years Lions were known for going door-to-door selling brooms to fund their projects. But over the years the tradition got swept away.
Now the Kane Lions Club is back to selling brooms, not door-to-door, but in local businesses Sirianni Jewelers, Ellen Perry Beauty Shop and Szymanski’s Restaurant. Lions’ brooms are also available at the Lions trailer whenever the Lions are out at festivals during the summer. Brooms are also available by contacting a Lion member.
Committee persons Geoff Perry and Don Blint revived the broom sales this year and broom sales are slowly picking up. Lions offer a corn model broom for $12. Profits from broom sales support vision programs for youth and adults as well as other community projects.
