Unofficial results show Leo Church is off Smethport Borough Council — maybe.

Church was seeking election to both a four-year and a two-year term.

For the four-year term, the top vote-getters were Kent Herzog with 200, Gregory Rounsville with 192, Jeffrey Tanner with 186 and Ryan Patrick Herzog with 165. Church garnered 87 votes.

For the two-year term, Republican Herzog garnered 157 votes, while Democrat Church received 67.

It was not immediately clear Tuesday whether Herzog would accept the two-year or four-year position, and whether that might mean Church would be voted on to council in Herzog’s stead.
